Music is science.
Music is math.
Music is physics.
Music is language.
Music is history.
Music is physical.
Music develops insight, and critical thinking.
Music induces curiosity and research.
Music is all of these things, and above all —
Music is Art.

I don’t teach music because I expect you to major in it,
I don’t teach music because I expect you to play an instrument for the rest of your life…

I teach music
so you will be fully human,
so you can recognize beauty,
so you will have something to cling to,
so you will have more love, more compassion, more gentleness, more good,
And bring you closer to an infinite beyond this world.

Ray did an excellent job adapting and helping me adapt to the needs of my instrument. I would highly recommend his services for his forthrightness, helpfulness, and patience.

A.F.E. (Tagelharpa)

I have taken lessons with Ray for several months. He is unquestionably the best teacher that I have had. His criticism of my work is leavened with kindness; his praise is thoughtful. Ray also explains things in a way that makes it easier for me to understand what I found to be confusing prior to working with him. He makes learning a pleasure. I recommend him without reservation.
“I am so blown away by how many different things I learn when I sit with you for an hour. It’s fantastic!”

M.S. (Piano)

I want so say that I am thoroughly enjoying my piano lessons with Ray and am learning so much. He is such a great teacher and such a delightful person to take lessons from.

J.L. (Piano)

When I started taking lessons from Ray I was playing the electric guitar, although I had a classical guitar in my house I did not play it that often. I took my classical guitar once to class and then I started to learn how to play the classical guitar. I went from playing basic peaces of music to playing Minuet in G in a short time. From playing electric guitar about 3 or 4 years to playing classical music in about 1.5 to 2 years. Ray has helped me to increase my knowledge of music.

S.M. (Classical Guitar)

My son and daughter both take from Ray and they love him!!! My daughter started with him after she had had 2 other teachers and she improved immediately. She loves going to Ray because he teaches her to play the songs that she likes. Now she plays so many songs for memory! My son loves going to piano and is always excited to see Ray.

K.B. (Piano)

My daughter is loving her cello lessons with Ray even more than she expected. She feels she is really improving.

M.H. (Cello)

Awesome!!!!!!!! So sweet! Cool hair : ))

M.P. (Violin)

Ray is an amazing teacher. My 11-year-old has high-functioning autism and has a great interest in learning music. I was hesitant to hire just any teacher, as many teachers don't have the patience and understanding to work with special needs kids. However, Ray has been not only patient, but he has an exceptional way of teaching my son in a way that he would understand and retain the information. Ray is creative, intuitive, and experienced. My son is very happy and enjoys the lesson every single time. Thanks Ray.

C.L. (Music Production)

Raymond Reich was recommended to me as a piano teacher for my children. We are an extremely active household, and my children are involved in many activities both in and out of school. At first, due to how busy we already were, I was skeptical about my children’s success at the piano. My fear was that they might end up overloaded and not find the lessons to be enjoyable. Both my son (12 years old) and daughter (9 years old) took to Raymond’s outgoing personality right away. I was amazed not only at their immediate liking to both the new instrument and their new teacher, but also at their excellent progress. Even with their non-stop life, they made sure to find time to practice their weekly assignments. It was a pleasure to have Raymond working with them for an entire school year. He made playing the piano fun, educational, and “cool”, which was especially important for my 12 year old son. He is a professional, motivated young man who cares about his students’ development and success, clearly demonstrated by his teaching. I am looking forward to having him back again for the rest of this summer.

M.L. (Piano)

Raymond Reich was hired by Catalano’s Music Store in the Spring of 2004, and was with us until he graduated High School in the Summer of 2005. He taught a number of instruments including violin, viola, cello, and primarily piano. A particular situation comes to mind when I think of Raymond’s success here. A mother had her very talented son enrolled for violin lessons. She was unhappy with the services, feeling that the teacher was unprofessional, undedicated, and not a musician. Upon hearing these complaints, I thought of the best way to keep this customer satisfied, and switched her son to Raymond. It only took ONE lesson for her to come up to me, proclaiming how happy she was with the switch, how respectful and polite Raymond was, what a good time her son had, and that Raymond was definitely a true musician. This parent was one of many who made it a point to come to me and express their satisfaction with Raymond. All the way from excellent people skills dealing with all kinds of parents and students of all ages, being a funny person to have around and talk to, and always eager to help out where he could beyond his call of duty, Raymond was truly an appreciated asset to the store.
