Recording styles:
‐ “Punch & Roll” recording = mistakes fixed during recording process
‐ “Straight” recording = mistakes left in until editing phase
Edit = full proof / edit pass / QC:
‐ remove mistakes, misreads, coughs, throat clearing etc,
‐ all noise removal (background, clicks, pops, mouth noise, etc)
‐ address spacing, narration pace, and room tone
‐ add in any additional pickups
Mix:
‐ vocal tone
‐ level automation
Master:
‐ guaranteed compliance with ACX standards ( loudness, peak RMS, noise floor, etc)
‐ “retail ready” in two formats + retail sample
Rates:
‐ studio time inc engineer = 75/hr (or 65/hr for 10+ hrs reserved up front)
‐ edit (punch & roll ), mix, master = 70 PFH
‐ edit (straight), mix, master = 110 PFH
‐ mastering only = 40 PFH
